Pilgrimage (Hajj)

Pilgrimage = Performing Hajj once in a life time.

Hajj - It was ordained in the 22nd year of Hijra.

For Hajj are the month well known. If any one undertakes that duty there in, let there be no obscenity, nor wikedness, nor wrangling. In the Hajj and whatever good ye do, (be sure)  Allah knoweth it, and take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best of provisions is right conducts.So fear me, o ye that all wise.
Al-Quran Sura Al Baqarah, 2:197

In it are sign manifest, (for example), the station of Abraham;
Whoever enter attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah, those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah (SWT) stand not in need of any of His creatures.
Al Quran, Sura Ali 'Imran, 3:97

Behold! We gave the site, to Abraham, of the (sacred) House, (Saying): "Associate not anything (In worship) with Me; and sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or stand up, or bow, or prostrate themselves (Therein in prayer).
Al Quran, Sura Al Hajj, 22:26

"And proclaim the Pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways".
Al Quran, Sura Al Hajj, 22:27

Ali bin Talib, reported that the Prophet said: If someone has the means and the transportation to take him or her to the House of Allah but not perform Hajj, then it does not matter if he or she dies as a Jew or a Christian. This is because Allah, the Almighty, has said: "Making Hajj to the House (i.e, the Kabah) is a duty to Allah incumbent or those who have the ability for it.

The Element of Hajj and Umrah

Preparation for Hajj or Umrah
If a Muslim has decided to go for Hajj or Umrah, it is recommended that he should record all of her/his debts and have them witness so that in case she/he dies during the journey they can be paid from her/his inheritance. She/he should sincerely repent for all of her/his sins in compliance with Allah's command
